Calculation method of rolling bearing fault frequency



Rolling bearing outer ring fault frequency: BPFOr≌0.4Nn
Rolling bearing inner ring fault frequency: BPFIr≌0.6Nn
Rolling bearing cage failure frequency: FTFr≌0.4N

The above symbols:

n = number of rolling elements.
N = speed of the shaft.

Note: 1. The rolling bearing does not slide; 2. The rolling bearing geometry does not change; 3. The bearing outer ring is fixed and does not rotate.

Rolling bearing outer ring fault frequency: BPFOe≌N (0.5n-1.2)
Rolling bearing inner ring fault frequency: BPFIe≌N (0.5n+1.2)
Rolling bearing rolling element failure frequency: BSFe≌N (0.2n-1.2/n)
Rolling bearing cage failure frequency: FTFe≌N (0.5-1.2/n)
